Job details:
Chemonics international, a leading international development organization based in Washington, D.C., seeks candidates for the anticipated Uganda Financing Agriculture and Rural Markets (FARM) project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Positions will likely be based Kampala and may include regional offices. We seek individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Chief of Party:

• Minimum 7 years of COP, DCOP, or senior leadership experience managing USAID funded agriculture financing programs in East Africa, preferably Uganda.
  
• Advanced degree in agricultural economics, finance, business, or other relevant field required.
  
• Demonstrated skill in collaborating with host
  
• Country officials, donors, and stakeholders.

Chemonics seeks specialists in the following areas:

• Financial Systems Regulation
  
• Agricultural and Rural Finance (especially insurance and alternative credit scoring)
  
• Access to Finance (especially SME financing and credit guarantees)
  
• Telecommunication
  
• Agriculture Finance Policy
  
• Agricultural Business Development Services
  
• ICT for Agriculture
  
• Digital Financial Services (including mobile money and agent networks)
  
• Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)
  
• Financial Inclusion for Women and Youth

General Qualifications for Specialists:

• Advanced degree in relevant technical area and specialty
  
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated relevant experience
  
• Knowledge and experience in the Ugandan agriculture sector
  
• Outstanding leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to conceptualize and lead technical tasks
  
• Fluency in English required
  
• Commitment to leadership, versatility, and integrity.
