Job Summary
The Communications Officer will be responsible for executing communication strategies that enhance the visibility, outreach, and impact of the LIT program. The officer will manage LGF’s internal and external communications, ensuring that stakeholders, partners, and the public are informed and engaged in the program’s objectives, activities, and outcomes. The role requires expertise in content creation, media engagement, digital communication, graphic design and stakeholder relations.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement a comprehensive communication strategy for the LIT program to enhance awareness and engagement
• Create, edit, and manage high-quality content, including press releases, reports, newsletters, social media posts, website updates, blogs, and multimedia materials
• Develop and design marketing materials, including brochures, posters, banners, social media graphics, reports, and presentations
• Strengthen LGF’s digital presence by managing social media platforms, website content, and online campaigns
• Establish and maintain relationships with media houses, journalists, and key stakeholders to enhance program visibility
• Coordinate program-related events, including workshops, conferences, and press briefings
• Support the development of advocacy materials and storytelling initiatives to showcase program impact
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide regular reports on media coverage, online engagement, and public perception
• Collaborate with program teams to document success stories, case studies, and testimonials from teachers, students, and school leaders
Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.
• At least (5) five years of experience in communication, graphic design, media relations, or public relations, preferably within the education or nonprofit sector • Proven experience in graphic design and content creation
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or other design tools
• Strong writing and editing with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences
• Proficiency in digital communication tools, including social media management, website content management, and graphic design software
• Experience in media engagement, stakeholder coordination, and event management
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders
