About the Job
The Credit Manager will be responsible for assessing and managing the credit risk of an organization by evaluating creditworthiness by making disbursement decisions, setting credit policies, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. He/She will work closely with credit officers, finance, and risk management teams to maintain a healthy balance between credit risk and business growth.
Key areas of influence and Responsibilities Credit management
- Credit Risk Assessment & Approval
- Evaluate and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and payment history of customers.
- Determine creditworthiness and set credit limits for new and existing clients.
- Approve or reject credit applications based on established policies.
- Credit Policy & Compliance
- Develop and enforce company credit policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial standards.
- Monitor and update credit policies to align with industry best practices.
3. Debt Collection & Accounts Receivable Management
- Oversee timely collection of outstanding payments and minimize bad debt.
- Work with customers to establish payment plans when necessary.
- Coordinate with legal teams for debt recovery actions.
4. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare reports on credit risk, outstanding receivables, and bad debts and submit monthly portfolio performance reports to management.
- Monitor key credit performance indicators (KPIs) and trends and submit monthly budget variance analysis reports to management.
