Who We Are
Nutrition Uganda Limited!
Tunga Nutrition Uganda Limited is a joint venture business of Nutreco BV and Unga Group Plc. Established in March 2022, the business distributes animal nutrition products from the parent companies and is currently building a state-of-the-art animal feed and concentrate production facility at Plat M229, factory close in Ninda Industrial area, Kampala, that is due to start operations in Quarter 3 of 2023. The feed production facility will be tapping into local input supply chains to produce the famous Hendrix brand of concentrates and animal feed.

Job Purpose
Responsible for defining the monthly demand forecast on 1-15-month time horizon, preparing the Supply Plan to satisfy the demand forecast and planning for raw materials to be available to produce the optimal supply and production plan

Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Creates the demand plans based on baseline (statistical) forecast which is enriched by inputs from the commercial teams for the operational (0-13 weeks) and tactical horizon (4-15 months)
• Understands how to use statistical forecasting to create a solid baseline forecast and maintains, reviews and cleans historical data and determines if this can be applied to the portfolio.
• Understand the impact of business dynamics and translate them into the demand plan: NPD, phase-in/out, promotions, events, seasonality, lenders, contracts, and activations.
• Secure demand plan constraining in case of supply restrictions and share the results with internal stakeholders (eg, supply sales and customer service) Preparing an accurate Supply Network Plan for specific product group(s) based on 1-15 months' time horizon which aims to meet the associated demand plan in the most effective manner, considering all relevant aspects of supply (capacity, raw material availability, formulation optimization etc.) Quarterly or semi-annually creating a strategic (36 months) Supply Network Plan to identify potential supply constraints on the strategic horizon and
• Prepare Supply Network Plan scenarios to determine the best option to maintain supply considering total Supply Chain cast and Customer Service Determines the number of auxiliary materials, packaging materials and ingredients needed given the internal stock policies to assure the availability of materials based on production planning and Creates the Material plans based on MRP from the approved production plan for the operational (0-13 weeks) horizon
• Adjusts planning based on changes in the production schedule or real production output and anticipates plans based on ad hoc production or distribution issues and as approved by IOP cycle as well as follow the business priorities set, secure Production/Material plan constraining in case of supply restrictions and share the results with internal stakeholders (eg. Operations Placing purchase orders with suppliers, calls of raw materials and auxiliary materials at suppliers considering contract agreements and lead times to ensure timely delivery.

Skills & Experience
• Bachelors Degree in the field of supply chain, operations, economics or similar, with at least 3-5 years of work experience in a comparable position Experience with forecasting and Sales & Operations Planning and/or IBP in the animal feed industry or any other industry such as FMCG is an added advantage
• Experience working cross-functionally with other departments in order to achieve best results.
• Excellent knowledge and expertise in CRP tools in functionality and usage. Microsoft Office (in particular MS Excel) is a requirement and knowledge of Infor M3 and CMP is desirable.
