Job Description :

Laborex Kenya Limited is a company dealing in the importation, distribution, and marketing of Pharmaceutical and Para pharmaceutical Products in Kenya with subsidiaries in Uganda and Tanzania. 

We are recruiting a Deputy Branch Director for the Uganda subsidiary, a strategic thinker with a passion for leadership and operational excellence.

Requested profile :

Holistic Branch Management

Plan, direct, and monitor all branch functions, including operational oversight, service delivery, procurement, transit, risk management, and commercial activities. You'll proactively coordinate with all Laborex Uganda departments and maintain key supplier relationships.

End-to-End Supply Chain & Logistics

Manage the entire procurement, importation, and reception process for both local and overseas orders, ensuring timely stock availability and adherence to commercial agreements. This includes coordinating with clearing agents, tracking orders, implementing robust internal controls for goods reception, and utilizing supplier performance dashboards.

Strategic Stock & Warehouse Management

Oversee all aspects of stock management, including expiry date monitoring, reorder levels, and outage prevention, coordinating closely with commercial teams. You'll lead stock counts, manage inter-branch transfers, and validate special pricing. Ensure all goods are stored per Good Distribution Practices (GDP), maintain warehouse security, optimize layout and productivity, and develop supply chain continuity plans.

Efficient Dispatch & Delivery

Organize and control the dispatch and delivery of goods across Uganda, synchronizing activities with telesales, warehousing, and customer needs (regular, urgent, bulk). You'll assess and improve service rates by working closely with the commercial department.

Commercial Performance Leadership

Drive sales and margin growth by ensuring commercial teams follow best practices for channel and customer management. You'll oversee target setting, monitoring, and reporting, and collaborate with the Branch Director and Chief Accountant on pricing strategies considering market dynamics and forex changes. You'll also ensure adherence to credit ceilings and DSO targets.

Good Distribution Practice (GDP) & Quality Assurance

Lead GDP conformity in Warehouse & Operations. This involves auditing suppliers, assessing pharmaceutical risks, implementing SOPs, staff training, and remediating quality gaps. You'll develop and implement validation plans, ensuring practices align with guidelines.

Strategic Operational Development

Contribute to developing and evaluating pharmaceutical operations strategy for the branches, aligning processes with other departments, and ensuring compliance with quality, legal, and environmental policies. You'll also develop KPIs for pharmaceutical operations and implement continuous improvement through regular reporting and policy enhancement.
