Deputy Care and Treatment technical lead
Duty Station: Kalisizo
Reporting To: Care & Treatment Technical Lead
Job Summary
The position holder will coordinate care and treatment activities to ensure timely and quality accelerated HIV care service delivery across all the supported 12 districts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support implementation and coordination of care and treatment activities across Masaka region.
• Provide technical support to staff in care and treatment in the clusters and health facilities.
• Support mentoring & CMEs for HCWs and project teams in relation to HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
• Support roll out of National HIV treatment guidelines and other related guidelines in HIV/AIDS care as recommended by the funders and MoH.
• Make reports on key activities related to HIV/AIDS treatment in Masaka region as required by the project and its stakeholders including funders and MoH.
• Provide on call/distance TA support for the handling of complicated HIV/AIDS cases.
• Support Quality improvement and Assurance of HIV/AIDS services at facilities and recommend corrective action.
• Participate in data use to guide program improvement
• Participate in meetings that review the performance and address bottlenecks affecting HIV/AIDS care and treatment services in Masaka region.
• Participate in donor meetings.
• Any other duty assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery.
• Master of Public Health or Health Services Research
• Training and experience working in HIV/AIDS setting.
• Active registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council required.
• At least 2 years in service post internship in a busy HIV/ AIDS clinical setting.
• Willingness to work and live in rural areas is required.
