Job purpose – summary
Ogilvy FEED is a real-time social intelligence and content unit connecting brands to popular culture. Listening and analysing real-world signals and turning them into insights and ideas that are tailored to the new digital audience. Working at the speed of culture: moving fast and breaking things.
As a Designer at the agency, you will be responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions. You will work to briefs agreed with the client, creative director, or account manager. They develop creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet the client’s objectives. Designers work within our client based, multi-disciplined teams, working closely with both Senior Designers, Art Directors and the account team and producers. Utilizing design and typographic skills, our designers are versed in all the main design and animation packages and have usually completed a comprehensive education in the design/multimedia field.

Role requirements
Knowledge Areas:
• On assigned projects: Design layouts and comps, supervise the development and preparation of mechanicals (and with experience and under supervision, help develop creative concepts and begin participating in client meetings and presentations)
• Review work routinely with supervisor keeping him/her fully appraised of all relevant issues and development
• In conjunction with supervisor, attend meetings with outside suppliers, photographers, illustrators etc.
• Demonstrate ability to evaluate the quality of work offered and be capable of monitoring costs
• Show keen attention to detail and develop organizational skills
• Actively participate when assigned to help on special projects
• When appropriate, participate with supervisor in brainstorming sessions, share ideas with brand team.
• Meeting clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job
• Interpreting the client’s business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
• Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for clients
• Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research
• Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
• Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
• Presenting finalised ideas and concepts to clients or account managers
• Working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design (CAD)
• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
• Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
• Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches
• Developing interactive design; commissioning illustrators and photographers
• Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
• Talent Management & Internal Relationships:
• Ensuring effective communication with all team members.
• Demonstrating an ability to effectively manage upwards.
• Demonstrates strong listening skills and can translate the information from Account teams in to work to be done.

Qualities and characteristics
• Required Behaviours:
• Degree from respected advertising/design program.
• Proven highly versatile creative concepting, design, and art direction skills.
• Exceptional portfolio necessary.
• Well-versed in the history of design, art direction, and advertising.
• Passion to eat, sleep and breathe all things advertising.
• Location
• FEED works as a combination of ON and OFFSITE work-frame. So, you will be required to work from client office locations and Ogilvy offices from time to time.
