JOB DETAILS:

Job description:
The Digital Marketing Specialist will lead the Uganda National Lottery’s E-commerce and digital marketing efforts, focusing on increasing brand visibility, engaging audiences across digital platforms, and driving online sales of lottery games. He/She will support the growth strategy of the business by enhancing its digital marketing programs to increase conversion ratios and optimize digital presence across all online platforms.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Develop and execute digital strategies to maximize traffic, conversions, and revenue across the National Lottery’s e-commerce platforms, including the website and USSD app.
• Manage digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, overseeing media buying, ad spend optimization, content development to drive performance.
• Coordinate digital marketing projects to ensure scalability and strategic effectiveness by analyzing performance data, identifying areas for improvement, and optimizing campaigns.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment in marketing strategy, messaging, and campaign execution.
• Execute email, SMS, WhatsApp, and partner campaigns, focusing on list management, segmentation, A/B testing, and performance analysis.
• Plan and optimize media buying strategies to ensure cost-effective ad spend and maximize ROI.
• Conduct market research to monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, using these insights to inform strategy and optimize campaigns.
• Optimize E-commerce performance by collaborating with product and development teams to enhance the website and mobile app, focusing on user experience and conversion rates.

Qualification, knowledge and skills required
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
• 3-5 years in digital marketing, preferably within an online business, with 2-3 years managing third-party service providers in business partnerships.
• Experience in the gaming/betting industry is desirable.
• Skilled in Google Analytics, SEO, SEM, PPC, email marketing, social media, and e-commerce strategies, with expertise in brand positioning, UX principles, customer journey mapping, and compliance with gambling regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills for data management and reporting, with strong analytical and ICT abilities to extract insights, visualize data, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
• Proven experience in managing e-commerce platforms and driving sales growth through effective digital marketing strategies.
