Important:
Recruitment for this post in the General Service category is done on a local basis. As a result, staff are generally recruited from the area in which the particular office is located but could be of any nationality. Candidates applying to a post in the General Services category shall meet the relevant employment and immigration requirements in the country of the duty station, including fulfilling residence and work permit conditions.
Applicants will be responsible for any expenses incurred in relation to: visa, travel to and from, and relocation to and from the duty station, in the event of an employment offer.
A staff member in the General Service category who has been locally recruited shall not be eligible for the entitlements and/or benefits exclusively applicable to internationally recruited staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the overall supervision of the Administration and Operations Officer, and direct supervision of the Senior Driver, the Driver serves as chauffeur for Country Office staff and ICC staff on The Driver provides this service during normal working hours and unsociable hours, as required.
- Carry out daily inspection of ICC vehicles; check all oil, water/coolant, fuel and windscreen washer fluid levels; cleaning the exterior and interior of vehicles.
- Drive staff members safely to various destinations, as required.
- Collect and drive VIPs and visiting staff between the Field Office, hotel, airport or other destination as requested.
- Assist in collecting and delivering documentation/goods when required.
- Participate in confidential ICC operations related to witnesses and victims.
- Any other relevant duties as assigned by the Administration and Operations Officer.
Essential Qualifications
Education
Diploma of secondary education is required.
Work Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience as driver.
- Knowledge in mechanics and professional driving training.
- Valid driver's licence; clean driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
- ICC Defensive driving courses would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Adaptability: Ability to react - Within the framework of the daily activities, adaptation to the conditions of a particular journey
Anticipation: During maintenance activities. Preventative maintenance of vehicles,
Vigilance: Alerting supervisor of any issue concerning the passengers’ safety,
Handle emergency situations: vehicle control and security awareness. Specialized driving training.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of vernacular languages subject to country will be considered an asset. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) would be considered an asset.

General Information
- The selected candidate will be subject to a Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) process in accordance with ICC policy. The PSC process will include but will not be limited to, verification of the information provided in the personal history form and a criminal record check. All candidates should be in a position to submit an electronic copy of their passport and all diplomas listed on their profile when requested;

- Post to be filled preferably by a national of a State Party to the ICC Statute, or of a State which has signed and is engaged in the ratification process or which is engaged in the accession process, but nationals from non-state parties may also be considered;

- Applications from female candidates are particularly encouraged;
