Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and talented Electrical Technician to provide routine maintenance services for plant electrical equipment and installations. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in routine and project operations, supporting strategic decision-making in collaboration with the Engineering Team at Qcil.
Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Technician, your primary duties will include:
1. Preventive Maintenance and Repairs:
o Assist the Electrical Engineer in devising preventive measures to avoid equipment downtime.
o Carry out planned preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs of production and utility machinery.
o Conduct housekeeping of operational areas to maintain safety and orderliness.
2. Equipment Testing and Operation:
o Check instruments and switchboards to ensure systems are functioning efficiently and detect line disturbances.
o Monitor the operation of diesel generators, transformers, UPS (uninterruptible power supply), panels, and other electrical equipment.
o Monitor power switches to ensure personnel safety and avoid interruptions during production and repairs.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
o Compile records and reports on equipment performance, instrument readings, calibrations, and switching operations.
o Maintain up-to-date validation and operational documentation, including SOPs.
4. Training and Safety:
o Conduct periodic training sessions on electrical safety within the premises.
o Ensure the maintenance of safety systems, including door interlocks, fire alarms, and the public address system.
5. Inventory and Supplies:
o Maintain the required inventory level for electrical spares and consumables.
o Coordinate with the purchase and supply departments to ensure timely procurement of materials.
6. Collaboration:
o Work closely with other Electrical Technicians/Engineers to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for this position, you must have:
• Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 2–3 years of experience in engineering processes, operations, or a similar role.
• Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and presentation skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o High attention to detail and accuracy.
