VNG International is the International Coopelation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities {VNG}. VNG lntnernational is currently participating in a bid to provide technical assistance on reducing the unsanitary dumping of solid waste and increase recycling rates. As part of the requirements no participate in this bid, VNG International is looking for candidates who lit the profiles of the following position:
Position: Environmental Specialist.

Education:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Environment Management, studies, Zoology, Forestry, Agriculture or other related disciplines. A post graduate qualification in Environmental Sciences is a plus.

General experience:
• At least 5 years’ experience in Environment Management;
• At least 3 years working experience in international donor-funded projects:
• At least 5 years‘ experience with pre-feasibility. feasibility and EEIA studies {based on IFC PS} of which at least 5 years in we field of solid waste management;
• Extensive experience with stakeholder management. processes, managmg stakeholder requirement etc.
Specific experience
• At least 5 years‘ working experience in Uganda
• Working experience with Local Government is an asset

Skills
• Fluent in English (spoken and written);
• Fluent in at Feast one of the following languages
• Lusoga. Luganda and/or Swahili:
• Cornpmer literacy including Microsoft Ofike;
• Proficient in drafting reports
• Excellent team working abilities.
Condition of engagement
The Expert is foreseen to be full-time for an estimate of around 18 months
Estimated earliest starring date of March 2020
Duty Station is expected to be jinja Municipality
