Join LM International as a Finance and Compliance Manager, where you will provide oversight over LM Uganda finances, national administration, assist in the growth of the country strategy, and contribute to strategic and organizational development as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
About Läkarmissionen/LM International
LM was founded in Sweden in 1958 and is today a global foundation with is Global office in Stockholm/Sweden. We are present in around 20 countries and work on long-term aid efforts to combat poverty, with a focus on livelihoods and food and nutrition security, health, education, and water and sanitation. We also operate in fragile states and conflicts and provide emergency humanitarian assistance.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Capacity building of Country Office staff, partners on financial procedures and compliance.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with program, procurement, and HR teams to support efficient operations.
- Champion anti-corruption, fraud and SEAH prevention across the organization the organization.
- Identify financial risks and development mitigation strategies; prepare risk and compliance reports for the Country Director.
- Ensure compliance with national legal and tax requirements; coordinate with local authorities and auditors as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with all rules and contractual obligations
- Monitor grants for financial compliance and work closely with the program department to ensure eligible spending.
- Oversee the country office financial operations including accounting, cash flow, bank reconciliations, payroll, and fund disbursement.
- Liase with local banks, vendors, and statutory bodies for financial matters.
- Ensure all financial records are maintained in accordance with national regulations and international accounting standards.
- Lead the preparation of annual country budgets and donor project budgets in collaboration with program and Global teams.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with internal policies and donor requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within an international organisation.
- Proven experience in managing finance for consortium projects, particularly in the E-mobility sector.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software, including QuickBooks and Dynamics.
