JOB DETAILS:

Main Purpose of the Job:
To manage, coordinate TAF (AIC) region fleet and functionally support drivers.

Key Outputs
• Security of TAF (AIC) region fleet ensured
• TAF (AIC) region fleet maintained in a good working condition
• TAF (AIC) region fleet effectively allocated and utilized
• Fuel usage well managed
• Fleet records maintained

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Inspect vehicles and ensure that they are safe and road worthy
• Put in place measures to ensure safety of vehicles and their accessories
• Ensure that vehicles are insured in time
• Maintain a record of fleet movements
• Check for road worthiness of vehicle before use
• Make follow-ups on vehicle repairs and servicing, to ensure that they are done as required
• Make regular checks on Drivers’ permits, vehicle insurance and other vehicle requirements
• Make arrangements for vehicles to be licensed as required by law
• Process requests for repair and service works and follow up to ensure that they are made in time
• Plan and allocate vehicles to region activities
• Supervise and participate in appraising drivers at the region
• Arrange for the provision of logistical support to drivers
• Reconcile fuel consumption and generate periodic fuel consumption reports
• Liaise with fuel suppliers to ensure timely payment of fuel supplies
• Maintain and update the Fleet Management System
• Provide technical advice to regional management on issues relating to fleet
• Prepare periodic reports on the transport function and submit them to the Fleet Management Supervisor

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Fleet Management Assistant
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
Diploma in Motor Vehicle Engineering or Transport and Logistics Management.

Required Experience and Skills
• 5 years as a Driver and practicing
• Training in fleet management and defensive driving
• Driving skills and possession of a valid Driving Permit with relevant classes, traffic laws and rules
• Knowledge of Highway Code
• Computer knowledge and vehicle mechanics
