About WWF

Our global Youth Engagement Programme for individuals aged 18-30 is designed to inspire a new generation of environmental advocates and leaders through volunteering, internships, mentorship, and leadership training opportunities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
As an intern, under the supervision of a Project Manager, you will:
• Provide day-to-day administrative and technical support to the assigned department.
• Assist with departmental policies, procedures, and program inquiries.
• Support project development, data collection, and analysis tasks.
• Prepare field reports summarizing activities and findings.
• Plan and organize logistics for community meetings, training sessions, and field activities.
• Engage with stakeholders, including local communities, government officials, and partner organizations, to promote conservation efforts.
• Conduct environmental education and outreach programs.
• Assist in grant proposal development and document compilation for fundraising.
• Draft plans, reports, and workplans, including data gathering and presentation.
• Populate GIS databases for conservation mapping purposes.
• Support the communications team with social media updates on conservation activities.
Qualifications and Competencies Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Ecology, Forestry, Environment, or Natural Resource Management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluency in English and at least one local language spoken in the Albertine Graben region.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in remote locations under challenging conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to align with WWF’s core values: Courage, Integrity, Respect, and Collaboration.
Working Relationships
• Internal: Collaborate with WWF Uganda staff in operational and technical teams, including field-based staff.
• External: Interact with stakeholders, local governments, communities, and conservation organizations working with WWF Uganda.
