Job details:
Job Title: Head of Internal Audit.
Reports to: Board at Directors with dotted line to OEO, BRAC Uganda Micro finance Ltd.

Purpose:
To Head the Internal Audit Department and provide an objective and independent assurance on the effectiveness, efficiency and reliability of the institution's strategic, financial, accounting, business, legal operations. To ensure that the institution has a robust risk management system, internal controls complies with the laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The position holder will also conduct follow up audits to monitor the adequacy of management interventions.

CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate audit charter,.lnternalAudi1 annual work plans internal Audit policies and procedure manuals.
  
• Manage and coordinate the BRAC Uganda Microfinance Audit Function and ensure there is effective communication between the Audit and all other stakeholders.
  
• Timely prepare and submit internal Audit and investigations reports to Board and management.
  
• Evaluate and review Financial, Accounting and Operational performance of the institution and all the departments, functions and advice on improvements
  
• Performs any other or related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in accounting, finance fields and extensive experience in auditing especially at senior management level, ACCA/CPA is a must, Master's Degree is added advantage
  
• A member of the recognized Audit body
  
• At least 8 years’ experience audit of regulated Financial Institutions preferably Credit Institution (Tier 2) and above of which at least 5 years at the level of manager.
