PROJECT DESCRIPTION
WaterAid's vision is of a world where everyone everywhere has access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the World’s poorest communities. WaterAid works through supporting local organisations and government authorities to design and demonstrate a appropriate and sustainable WASH programmes. WaterAid also seeks to influence policy change through government and other key sector actors to secure and protect the rights of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.

The positions will report to the Specific Unit Heads, based in Kampala

Knowledge Management and Learning Manager

Purpose of the Job

  • Ensure that knowledge management is developed into a central pillar of achieving WaterAid Uganda Strategic Objectives.
    Profiling WaterAid Uganda work by leading the development of Programme Knowledge work in line with priorities identified the Country Strategy.
  • Document and disseminate lessons learned in the implementation of water supply, sanitation and hygiene projects within communities and government.
    Principle responsibilities: Technical management planning, learning and communication, reporting, partnership support

Knowledge Management and Learning manager will:

  • Lead the development of the programme knowledge and dissemination strategy.
  • Lead in developing and reviewing knowledge management relevant_ policies & frameworks, ensuring they are implemented to meet delivery standards of WaterAid
  • Help monitor and evaluate the knowledge sharing program, including external benchmarking and evaluation programs/ opportunities,
  • Document lessons learnt and good practices and disseminating to the broader organization
  • Develop partnerships among sector stakeholders for effective collaboration and coordination of programme knowledge learning and dissemination
  • Support organizational team and personal work planning, implementation & review processes to maximize the effectiveness of WaterAid s initiatives

Education, experience and skills

  • Bachelor degree in Business management Information technology or related field
  • 6 years of development experience with four years in direct Knowledge management practice
  • Experience in developing knowledge management strategies and establishing guidelines
  • Experience in developing training modules and delivering formal and informal classroom trainings, workshops conferences and seminars
  • Building and managing relationships with key Stakeholders
