JOB DETAILS:
Grainpulse Ltd is a first of its kind integrated agribusiness company that deals in Agro Inputs, Animal Feed, Grain and Coffee sourcing, processing and trading as well as provide Agronomy and Advisory services to small holder and commercial farmers. We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor
The position reports to the Maintenance Engineer and will be based in Lwanyonyi, Mukono. The job-holder is responsible for the maintenance of plant and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising maintenance staff.

The duties and responsibilities of the position are
• Accomplish maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
• Meet maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
• Evaluate functionality and reliability of equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
• Maintain functionality and reliability of plant equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; testing equipment, calibrating, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty components and parts.
• Improve function and reliability of plant equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with company OHSE rules and regulation
• Meet maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; implementing corrective actions and optimizing spares consumption
• Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed
• Conduct departmental inspections, stock takes and audits

The ideal candidate
• Must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, specialized in industrial automation/ instrumentation.
• Possession of Certificate in programming or relevant knowledge on PLCs and software programming is a must.
• He or she must have at least 3 years work experience in a busy manufacturing industry in a similar position.
• In addition, the ideal candidate must be skilled in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software programming and/or instrumentation, interpreting drawings /plans, troubleshooting and generating equipment maintenance reports.
• Furthermore, the ideal candidate must be agile with the ability to make decisions and a team player. He or she must also possess strategic planning, coaching and good interpersonal skills.
