JOB DETAILS:
Job Title Management Trainee- Networks
Directorate Technical Services

Reporting to Transport Network Engineer
Salary Grade N7
Job Purpose
To support the network team in handling technical and administrative day-to-day tasks of the department.
Key Accountabilities
i. Keep an updated outline of the actual layout of the NBI optical network elements in the form of as-built files;
ii. Keep an updated record of capacity usage (cores) on the NBI optical network;
iii. Periodically inspecting and reviewing the network documentation arising out of various events such as repair work, relocations, and extensions.
iv. Participate in specific studies associated with best practices and planning for fiber upgrades, relocation, and extensions including routine maintenance works;
v. Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Telecommunications Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, etc., will be an added advantage.
Experience
• At least 1 year working experience in Networks, systems administration, GIS software or Auto CAD.
Technical Expertise
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team;
• Customer Relationship Management
• Capacity to establish credibility, trust, and partnership.
• Analytical and problem–solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 12
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
