JOB DETAILS:
De Heus Animal Nutrition is the fourth-generation family business that has proudly grown into a major global player with 10.000 employees. Explosive growth has brought the company to where it is today. We have been in the Top 10 of the largest Dutch family-owned businesses for years. In Uganda, De Heus is best known for its brand Koudijs. To extend its business in East Africa, De Heus will start local production of animal feed in Uganda and Kenya. The new plant in Uganda will produce aqua feed to power the rapidly growing aquaculture sector.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
• Actively contribute to De Heus Uganda’s sales and marketing planning; Managing the company's on line and off line promotional activities to reach the sales budgets.
• Organise seminars & promotional events, attend conferences and aquaculture-related events to promote the name of De Heus and engage aqua farmers and other key stakeholders.
• Do marketing-related research about the target audience and understand the development of the fish prices. Translate into your Go-To-Market approach.
• Organise information sessions for entrepreneurs and (starting) fish farmers
• Help set up activities to encourage people to start fish farming, for example set up and design training facilities for (starting fish) farmers

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
It would be best if you have an outgoing personality and enjoy to learn new things. You are highly motivated and easily relate to different kind of people. This job demands initiative, affinity with (social) media and good commercial insights. You are analytical and reliable; you know what it takes to execute a successful marketing strategy. You also have shown you can manage a project successfully from the beginning to the end.

You are responsible and care about the quality of the work. Furthermore, you have a real “can do” mentality and don’t wait to take action. You believe actions speak louder than words. You are a real team player.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Has a bachelor’s degree either in marketing or a related field with an affinity for aquaculture or agricultural business administration or has a bachelor’s degree in aquaculture or agricultural business administration with an affinity for marketing.
• Has a minimum of 5 years of sales, marketing or business development experience in a similar role
• Has a proven experience in the Ugandan aquaculture / agricultural sector?
• Has proven affinity with (social) media with a network in the Uganda’s media sector
• Is a fast learning: accurate, analytical and reliable?
• Has good typing skills and can work well with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Has a valid Driving License and National Identity Card?

At the plant in Njeru (near Jinja), with regular site visits in Uganda and possibly East Africa
