Role DescriptionThe Level 4 Technician will report to the Operations Manager. The Technician is responsible for service, diagnosis and repair a range of cars, trucks and agricultural machinery which may include tillage, planting, harvesting, spraying, irrigation and transportation equipment.
Responsibilities• Preparing defect lists and parts list for all the farm equipment and forwarding these to the procurement team immediately after the machines parking for offseason maintenance.
• Appraising the team of junior mechanics you are working with and training and encouraging them to improve on their mechanical skills.
• Sign-off (ensuring that the machine has left the workshop in good mechanical condition) planters, tractors, combines, sprayers and other machinery during the off- season maintenance process and in advance of the commencement of the season.
• Forecast issues that can cause breakdowns (especially major breakdowns) on a machine to allow the Farm Operations Manager to communicate to procurement and start the procurement process early.
• Advising management on options and modifications on the machines that increase cost savings to the company in terms of buying spares (i.e. modification to Tier 4 machines by reprogramming a controller rather than purchase of alternative spares).
• Remain physically present during work on the drivetrain related maintenances, engine cooling system and sprayer pumps including sign-off for the machine to resume work.
• Installation and sign-off of spares installation works for all spares > $1000.
• Responsible for and signing off of 250, 500, 1000,1500, 2000, 3000, 4500, 5000 & 6000 hrs and following up to have these done on time for all machines/farm equipment as per OEM requirements.
• Responsible any other preventative, planned and corrective maintenance of all farm equipment including staff training
• Responsible for the management of spare parts inventory and all components necessary for machine performance, including procurement of associated elements including staff training
• Development, documentation and training of Standard Operating Procedures for all farm equipment
QualificationsAbility to service, diagnose and repair a range of agricultural machinery which may include tillage, planting, harvesting, spraying and irrigation equipment
1. electrical, hydraulic, engine and braking systems
2. intake, exhaust and emission control systems
3. mechanically and electronically controlled fuel systems
4. clutches, transmissions, drive axles and final drive assemblies
5. steering and suspension systems
6. tires, wheels, ballasting devices, undercarriages and tracks
7. air-conditioning and structural components and accessories
8. tillage, planting and harvesting equipment
9. spraying and irrigation agricultural systems
• Formal qualifications and/or apprenticeship in the above listed systems & methods including
1. Diesel engine repair certification
2. Small engine repair certification
3. Hydraulic systems repair certification
4. Gas and arc welding certification
5. Air conditioning, heating & electrical certification
• Strong working knowledge of workshop procedures & safety
• Digitally literate (able to work with MS Office & OEM diagnostic tools)
• Communication skills (able to communicate well cross culturally in a challenging environment)
• Five or more years of experience
• An associate’s degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in a related field

Role DescriptionThe Technical Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager. The Technical Supervisor Responsible for supervising and supporting in running farm operations. Manages staff and operations of the farm including scheduling time, managing performance, identifying training needs, and providing recommendations for actions
Responsibilities
The Technical Supervisor will be responsible for the following:• Responsible for operational performance and meeting deadlines in line with the company’s plans and vision, and communicating the same to subordinates
• Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Solve problems and make decisions independently and in line with company policies
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that sustain and improve organizational performance
• Monitor employee productivity and provide continuous, constructive feedback and coaching and manage performance reviews for direct reports
• Receive complaints and resolve problems. Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
• Participate in review of agronomic practices

• Continuous reporting on farm activities including among other things accomplishments, performance against plan, planned activities, risks and issues
