JOB DETAILS: About Cycle Connect Cycle Connect is a socially-driven business that delivers products and services to rural farmers in Uganda. We believe that distance should not be a barrier to opportunity and that is why we work on serving last-mile farmers.
Millions of farmers are financially excluded and yet need access to assets on credit. This is where Cycle Connect delivers, as we specialize in offering productive assets on financing plans, reaching the most last-mile customers, and offering low barrier loan terms built for farmers, enabling them to increase their income and in turn propel their communities forward.
We began our full-time operations in 2014 and early-on pivoted to a blended enterprise and impact model. We have a growing number of assets in our portfolio, including oxen and plough, bicycles, motorcycles, grinding machines, and a rich pipeline for even more. To date, we have worked with over 8,000 farmers across two different branches and backed up by 40 team members. We are venturing through an exciting time of rapid growth and scale throughout Uganda and are therefore looking to expand our team.
Length of contract This is a full-time position six-month contract, with the ability to extend or move into a staff position.
Your Responsibilities 1. Providing support to Cycle Connects’ Marketing officers in all Marketing related activities
2. Traveling to the field regularly to assist in sensitizations of communities, applications, and asset distribution
3. Data entry and conducting surveys
4. General administrative duties
5. Any other duties as may arise
Who are we looking for 7. Minimum qualification of diploma from recognized university or college
8. Preference will be given to those with agriculture/finance degrees or diplomas
9. Strong computer skills
10. Fluency in English and Luo (Acholi, Langi)
11. Ability and/or willingness to ride a motorbike
12. Women are strongly encouraged to apply
Other Information Work location will be in Gulu or Lira. Expect to spend about 50% of your time in the field. Working hours of 9am to 6pm.
