Job Summary
The Procurement and Logistics Officer will be responsible for managing procurement processes, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services in line with program requirements. This role involves managing all procurement activities, overseeing inventory, and ensuring compliance with LGF’s procurement policies and procedures while supporting the logistics and distribution of materials to project sites and schools.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are purchased by LGF’s procurement policies and procedures
• Coordinate the delivery, transportation, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies to project sites and schools within the required timelines
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of goods and materials, ensuring proper documentation, storage, and stock management.
• Ensure all procurement and logistics activities comply with LGF’s policies, donor requirements, and local laws
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of procurement transactions
• Monitor procurement and logistics expenses to ensure they stay within the allocated budget
• Draft and manage contracts with suppliers, service providers, and transport companies, ensuring terms and conditions are clearly defined and adhered to
• Collaborate with program staff to forecast procurement needs, preparing procurement plans in alignment with program goals and timelines
• Provide logistical support for workshops, training sessions, and program-related events, including venue arrangements, transportation, and necessary materials
• Provide support and training for program staff on procurement and logistics procedures, ensuring adherence to LGF’s policies and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement and logistics management
• In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, logistics, and supply chain management.
• Familiarity with local procurement laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Preferred Attributes
• Strong understanding of procurement and logistics best practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
