Job details:
Reporting to the National Coordinator for Pediatrics and Adolescent HIV care and treatment, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the implementing partners in the implementation and tracking national scale up plan for Adolescent HIV care and treatment services in line with Ministry of Health STD/AIDS Control program objectives.

Overall responsibilities:

The Program Officer Monitors the implementation of strategies for coordinating the technical working group inclusive of implementing partners in the formulation and implementation of National Pediatric and Adolescent HIV policies, SOPs and guidelines, Develop and monitor the implementation of periodic operational work plans and budgets, Bench mark the performance of Baylor-Uganda with other IP, Monitor the implementation of national strategies, Monitor the integration and implementation of QI, Build the capacity of regional teams, Develop and implement strategies geared towards strengthening advocacy and community mobilization Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and networks, Conduct operation research.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:

  • Any medical related Masters with a background of a degree in M.B.Ch.B and registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council and health systems management training.
  • The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in managing HIV/AIDs related programs projects with (2) years relevant working experience preferably in health development at a senior management position, with a reputable international NGO, and direct experience with government and donor representatives

Behavioral competencies:

  • Team and communication skills (both oral and written) and with strong management and analytical skills.
  • Must be dynamic, Persuasive and convincing, self
    - Motivated and able to demonstrate high initiative
