JOB DETAILS:
The Agribusiness Development Centre (ADC) was formed in 2017 by its two founding members: Rabo Foundation and dfcu Limited with the aim of promoting Self Sufficiency in target customer segments towards Agricultural Transformation in Uganda.
This is being done through offering its chosen market segment (Farmer Based Organizations (FBO), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) capacity building, business accelerator opportunities and facilitating relevant linkages through innovations and collaborations to grow, build and promote a prospect of a sustainable future.
ADC is scaling multiple programs including the Business Accelerator Program, Price Risk Management Program, Hi-Innovator Program, and the Agricultural Exchange Program dubbed ‘dfcu katale’ (which is a marketplace application that ADC is scaling as part of its Last Mile Delivery and agency retail model, aspiring to grow both demand and supply linkages within the identified agricultural value chains).
This anchor program is driving the ADC cross-programing aimed at resulting in building synergies among its programs while extending more value to its core stakeholders and the Agricultural Value Chain players that ADC exists to serve.

Position Summary
ADC is undertaking the last mile delivery of the Agricultural Exchange program dubbed “dfcu Katale”, involving pre-onboarding engagements, onboarding, post onboarding - training, digital support, relationship building as well as credit and market linkages pipelining and management.
This anchor program and other organizational programs require planning, coordination, monitoring as well as integrated programming to harness the strategic targets of ADC and its partners.
ADC is thus seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Programs Coordinator for the dfcu Katale and any other assigned programs to:
i. Undertake coordination of schedules, resources, drives & activations, linkages; trace programs results and ensure all activities s link to outputs, then outcomes and attainment of overall program objectives and intended impact.
ii. Undertake regular program communications with internal and external ADC stakeholders while managing program budget.
iii. Undertake key ADC representation in forum, events and meetings related to last mile delivery work.
iv. Liaising with the Project Manager Innovation coordinated program leadership to remove blockers and ensure program workstreams successfully complete within both time, and budget.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager Innovations
The Programs Coordinator dfcu Katale has the following duties and responsibilities to do:
Programs Planning
1. Plan the required interlinkages between the different learning and Alternative learning programs.
2. Plan and strategize on how the different programs can result in market and Financial linkages.
3. Focused planning for the dfcu Katale Program pre-onboarding, onboarding and post-onboarding drives.
4. Make a feasible plan for the different programs and their workstream to achieve the goals and objectives of the project and ADC.
5. Define, schedule, and accurately estimate the task duration to develop and maintain a realistic schedule.
6. Define the program initiatives scope and determine what resources are available, estimating time and financial commitment, as well as how to monitor and report on the project’s progress.
7. Break down the various elements involved in getting the work done, such as producing and maintaining a roll out plan, covering timetables, training agendas, assigning tasks to team members, and developing checkpoints for progress.
Programs Leadership
1. Oversee the piloting of assigned programs and supporting to remove blockers, impediments and obstacles.
2. In collaboration with the business advisory and innovation teams, drive the implementation of training, linkages and overall relationship building with the program stakeholders.
3. Lead field-based stakeholder engagements and represent ADC on the program front.
4. Support Executive Director to supervisor Business Advisors’ program-related activities.
Budget Management
1. Participate in the development and defending project workstream budgets approval of the project budget, and then implement the project within or under the approved budget. Avoid budget overruns.
2. Monitor the actual spending periodically in comparison to the planned budget to enable the making of timely adjustments accordingly.
Analyzing and Managing program risk
1. Meticulously identify and evaluate potential risks before the program begins.
2. Put in place measures to avoid risks or at least minimize their impact.
Partner/ Grantor Management
1. Lead liaison with contracting Partners or grantors and ensure partner satisfaction.
2. Escalate any partner concerns to the Project Manager Innovations or the Executive Director in a timely manner.
Resource Mobilization
1. Support the resource mobilization efforts through scaling of the existing programs and projects.
2. Participating in writing of proposals. Expressions of Interest or concepts notes.
Monitoring Progress
Constantly track deliverables in liaison with Monitoring. Evaluation and Learning team.
1. Identify potential and actual issues and risks that arise and work towards resolving them quickly, so that the project does not go off-track.
Reporting and Documentation
1. Ensure period submission of the program reports as required by the Partner.
2. Ensure program documentation must be signed off and archived at the end of a project.
ADC Promotion
1. Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of ADC
2. Create awareness of the alternative learning channel, Projects & Programs as well as the scaling of ADC services
Risk Management
Support the PMI and ED in overall identification of program the risks for placement into the risk register; Manage and monitor compliance with relevant legislation; Monitor and contribute to internal risk treatment strategies and activities; Ensure that processes are in place across the Organization to manage and treat identified risk appropriately and identify and groom Risk Champions.
Other duties of the Project Coordinator shall include the performance of all the duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager Innovations or the Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Finance, Business Administration, Development Studies or a related field.
• Experience with Last Mile retailing or App Scaling in a Fintech or AgriTech environment
• Certification in PRINCE2, PMP, or any related professional certification is added Advantage.
Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Project management, Planning, Agribusiness Training, Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation in development projects.
Experience in Stakeholder Management, project planning, finance or Monitoring and Evaluation
Skills

4) Organizational skills to ensure the success of projects delivered on time.
