Duration of Employment: Fixed Term contract (Two years).
Working nature: Full-time assignment.
Working hours: 40 hours a week.
Duty station: Tororo, Uganda.
Salary range: 1 .5-1.8m per Months (Gross).

Background
The Benedictine Eye Hospital ( BEH ) in collaboration with the Kilimanjaro Centre for Community Ophthalmology (KCCO), is implementing a program otactlvlties designed to meet the eye health needs of children in the Eastern Region of Uganda. l'he Project has three rhaln components:
• a retrospective chart review of cataract cases in children,
• Follow up visits at home to examine children previousiy managed at BEH and to assess visual, physical and social functioning and,
• organization of community eye screening camps in rural areas tor children and to deliver eye health services as needed. Under the overall supervision o the Medical Director of the Benedictine Eye Hospital, the project coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the Project, including all substantive and administrative matters. .

FUNCTIONS
• Manage and coordinate project activities, from substantive, administrative and financial points of view, applying strategic planning and systematic coordination of project activities.
• Manage day-to-day project implementation and overall coorrtinallon oi project activities. The Project Coordinator will lead or assist with 1) extracting information from medical charts (component l), 2) collecting qualitative and questionnaire data during follow up visits at the community level (component 2) and 3) organizing eye health outreach activities in rural settings (component 3).
• Provide direction and leadership in advocating project objectives and in ensuring that all interested parties are well informed about the project activities and goals.
• identity any support and advice required tor the management, planning and control of the Protect.
• Ensure timely preparation and compilation of the Project Quarterly Work Plans and Progress/Final substantial and financial reports.
• Ensure the quality ul outputs and results with optimal monitoring mechanisms; establish effective coordination, monitoring, intormatton sharing and reporting systems
• Manage Project administrative and security related activities, monitor financial resources and accounting to ensure accuracy and reliability of tinancial reports.
• Ensure establishment and maintenance of proper electronic and paperfiling systems.


Education:
Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, health related field or project management.
Asset:Master degree or equivalent in a health-related field or Social Sciences.

Experience
• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Managing USAID protects.
• Managerial experience in a relevant field, including in grant management.
• Proven ability to draft, edit and produce written results focused reports.
• Experience in the usage of computers and Office software packages (MS Word. Excel, etc).
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Swahili Knowledge of local languages in Eastern Uganda will be an added advantage.
