PROJECT DESCRIPTION
WaterAid's vision is of a world where everyone everywhere has access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the World’s poorest communities. WaterAid works through supporting local organisations and government authorities to design and demonstrate a appropriate and sustainable WASH programmes. WaterAid also seeks to influence policy change through government and other key sector actors to secure and protect the rights of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.

The positions will report to the Specific Unit Heads, based in Kampala

Purpose of job:

  • Development and implementation of the WaterAid Uganda’a (WAU’s) School WASH project within the integrated WAU programmes.
  • Developing School WASH' programme plans. coordinating and facilitating implementation support to other programmes and partners engaged in WASH service delivery in an integrated way.
  • Development of school the WASH strategy

Principle responsibilities: programming and technical support, networking and partnerships, monitoring and reporting:

The School WASH Manager will:

  • Lead on the development of School WASH project proposals integrated within WAU programme in line with specific donor grant requirements
  • Monitor implementation of the school wash programme and prepare key reports on the basis of organizational policies and procedures including monthly, quarterly, iannual and annual reports.
    institute a School WASH implementation framework to achieve programme objectives in line with the education ministry school curriculum
  • Organise and facilitate capacity needs assessment and development plans for WAU partners in developing, implementation and managing of WASH.
  • Document lessons and experiences from the projects activities and process.
  • Represent WAU at relevant School WASH forums for lobbying, experience sharing, learning and profi e building of WAU.

Education, experience and skills:

  • A Bachelors of Engineering or qualification in in economics, pubic policy, political science, social sciences or related ie d
  • 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience of partner capacity development strategies
  • Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders
