Position Summary:
The Senior Carpenter will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work with a strong focus on gypsum board installation and finishing. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and enhancing interior spaces and fixtures to meet the aesthetic and functional standards of a luxury 5-star hotel. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques, with special expertise in gypsum board ceiling and partition works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, furniture, fixtures, partitions, and ceilings throughout the hotel.
- Expertly handle gypsum board works, including cutting, framing, joint taping, sanding, and finishing to a premium level.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and respond to maintenance work orders promptly.
- Coordinate with other engineering trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) during renovation or repair projects.
- Ensure all work meets the hotel’s luxury brand standards in terms of precision, finish, and cleanliness.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Assist in planning materials and labor for small to medium-scale renovation projects.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior carpenters and contractors, if needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and hotel policies, including fire and emergency procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate or Diploma in Carpentry or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role in a commercial or hospitality environment.
- Proven skills and experience in gypsum board installation, partitioning, and ceiling work.
- Experience working in high-end or luxury properties preferred.
- Good understanding of materials, construction techniques, and finishing.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.

- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and technical specifications.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
