Enimiro Products Uganda Limited, trading as Enimiro Uganda, ("the Company") is a high growth company, first formed and incorporated in Uganda in 2019. Enimiro Uganda is positioning itself as Uganda's leading vertical supply chain partner with their core operations of the business set up in Nakirubi, Jinja.
The company is initially focusing on three core products of vanilla, coffee and pineapple, with vanilla as the anchor product. The company currently has over 1,800 smallholder farmers on their out-grower system, who are registered on a traceability database across different regions in Uganda. There is a need to build on this existing model to integrate agronomic and agroforestry best practices through capacity development of lead extension workers per region. Enimiro is currently working with smallholder farmers from the Central, Western, and Eastern regions in growing vanilla, coffee and pineapples. The company targets to reach c 3,900 smallholder farmers with this model by the end of the Yield Fund investment period. Areas identified for intervention include the following: agronomy, agroforestry planning and modelling, intercropping practices, post-harvest handling, quality management, disease and pest management, organic crop practices, and carbon credit introduction.
The intervention will require hiring a Specialist to initiate an agroforestry concept model, train the lead extension workers, recruitment of additional lead and junior extension workers, developing training materials and the logistical support required to reach out to the smallholder farmers.
The Company seeks to engage the services of an Agronomist Specialist (1) to build on the existing model to integrate agronomic and agroforestry best practices through capacity development of lead and Junior extension workers and a Nursery Specialist (1) to strengthen the integrated agronomy and agro forestry model through providing a practical classroom environment through a demonstration farm to impart proper agronomic practices.
