Background
Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit a dynamic and competent individual to fill the position of Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) Officer based in Kampala with frequent travels within Kampala metropolitan area (Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso) and to other project regions (Albertine/Rwenzori and Busoga).
The Social Behaviour Change Communication Officer will Lead the effective and efficient roll out of the social behaviour change component of WeWork Kampala project.
Job Description
Joining Enabel as an Enterprise Development and Decent Work Officer, you will be directly reporting to the Project Manager and you will perform the following key tasks;
• You contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual SBCC work plans.
• You lead the implementation of SBCC work plans in the region of operation.
• You guide and supervise target audience consultations to inform SBCC programming.
• You lead the co-creation of campaign messages for various audiences and their adaptation for different media.
• You update SBCC data in M&E systems so the performance of the result area is measurable.
• You provide technical guidance on appropriate SBCC theories to inform campaign interventions.
Your Profile
• A Masters’ Degree in Communication, Marketing, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Social Work or any other related fields
• A specialised training in Social Behaviour Change Communication is an added advantage
• At least 5 years proven experience in planning, designing and implementing social behaviour change communication programmes.
• At least 3 years proven experience in managing and implementing comprehensive, evidence based, community led and context specific SBCC programmes.
• Knowledgeable about community involvement in Social Behaviour Change Communication interventions
• Experience implementing social behaviour change initiatives especially targeting education or employment issues.
• Knowledgeable about change theories.
• Experience working with district local governments.
