Role Description
The Stores Clerk is a full-time, on-site role located in Kampala. The Stores Clerk will be responsible for managing inventory, organizing and maintaining the store, receiving and inspecting shipments, ensuring accurate records of stock levels, and assisting with retail sales operations. The role also involves providing excellent customer service, communicating effectively with team members and customers, and participating in training sessions to enhance store operations.
Responsibilities
• Receive materials and non-stock items, ensuring quality checks are completed before storage.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements in and out of the stores.
• Assist in managing warehouse operations in line with company policies and vision.
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, and issuing of products while maintaining cleanliness and safety.
• Coordinate storage layouts for efficient space utilization and easy access.
• Ensure compliance with warehousing, handling, and shipping documentation requirements.
• Monitor stock levels, reconcile inventory, and generate reports.
• Work closely with Finance, Procurement, and Transport teams for smooth operations.
• Support monthly stock take activities and implement strategies for inventory accuracy.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management OR Transport & Logistics Management.
• Experience: At least 1 year in a store or inventory management role (FMCG experience preferred)
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
• Experience in Retail Sales and Organization Skills
• Ability to participate in and conduct Training sessions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Previous experience in a store or inventory management role is an advantage
• Proficiency in using inventory management software is a plus
