JOB DETAILS:
B1. Overall Purpose of the Job
To oversee and manage tractor drivers within the section to ensure the completion of assigned tasks within the anticipated time frame. The aim is to achieve the set cane transport targets while adhering to budgeted costs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Oversight:
o Oversee the check-in and check-out of subordinate employees by signing daily attendance sheets.
o Address and resolve grievances related to work among subordinate staff and escalate serious issues to the supervisor for further action.
2. Work Coordination:
o Collaborate with the section supervisor to plan daily activities.
o Assign tasks and deploy labor to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
3. Provision of Tools and Equipment:
o Distribute necessary tools and equipment to subordinates for task performance and ensure their return after completion of work.
4. Monitoring Progress:
o Supervise the progress of work and advise employees on adjustments to improve performance.
o Oversee cane-loading operations to ensure optimal tonnage.
5. Tractor Operations:
o Monitor and regulate tractor speeds, ensuring they do not exceed 20 km/hr on main estate roads.
6. Reporting:
o Prepare and submit periodic reports on work progress within the section to the Cane Transport Supervisor.
7. Compliance and Safety:
o Adhere to company safety, health, and environmental regulations.
o Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained in the work area.
8. Other Duties:
o Perform any additional related duties as assigned by the Supervisor – Cane Transport and Loading or Management.

C. Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
C1.1 Education:
• Minimum Requirement: Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
C1.2 Experience, Skills, and Competencies:
• Experience:
o At least 2 years of working experience in a related field with basic supervisory training.
• Skills:
o Good supervisory skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
