JOB DETAILS:
AMSAF East Africa Limited is a platform for agricultural aggregation, trading and financing operating in Uganda. AMSAF provides a digital platform food system stakeholders connect with each other and to the resources they need to thrive. Grain Buyers and Grain Sellers, Inputs Suppliers and Farmers, Financial Institutions and Borrowers all transact over AMSAF to improve their capacity utilization, access to suppliers and access to customers.
AMSAF is a joint venture between Star Agri and Asili Agriculture. Star Agri is India's leading post-harvest management solution provider. Asili is Uganda's leading agricultural producer and wholesaler. The two partners have joined forces to leverage their technology, competencies and networks to establish the largest regional platform for grain trade and agriculture financing.

The Purpose of the role
Create and Build sustainable relationships with grain suppliers in Eastern Uganda that ensure efficient supplies to Buyers on the AMSAF digital platform

Specific Roles and Responsibilities of the Position
• Supplier relationship Management: Identify, on board, and manage relationships with Suppliers who will sell raw materials through AMSAF.
• Loan Preparation: Assess, prepare, and present pre-qualified suppliers for aggregation loans, ensuring all necessary documentation and criteria are met.
• Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of AMSAF suppliers, ensuring a steady flow of high-quality suppliers.
• Value Proposition Communication: Clearly explain the value proposition of AMSAF to potential and existing grain suppliers, highlighting benefits and opportunities.
• Loan Terms Explanation: Communicate and explain the terms and conditions oftrader aggregation loans to suppliers, ensuring they have a thorough understanding.
• Business Rule Communication: Educate grain suppliers on AMSAF business rules, ensuring compliance and understanding of operational procedures.
• Supplier On boarding: Guide new suppliers through the on boarding process by explaining AMSAF policies, procedures, and pricing structures.
• Relationship Management: Manage and nurture the relationship between AMSAF and its suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for any issues or inquiries.
• Sales and Contracting: Prepare and manage sales and contracting paperwork for suppliers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies to increase sales volume and supplier engagement on the AMSAF platform.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on sales objectives, outcomes, and supplier performance metrics.
• Quality Assurance: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the quality of products, maintaining high standards for all transactions.
• Order Fulfilment Follow-up: Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams as needed.
• Trade Volume Increase: Engage in various activities aimed at increasing the volume of trade transacted on AMSAF, including outreach and promotional efforts.
• Additional Tasks: Perform various other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall goals and objectives of AMSAF.

Personal Specification for this Role
Essential
• Experience in agricultural supply chain management, preferably in grain trading or related sectors.
• Proven track record in supplier relationship management, with a focus on onboarding and maintaining high-quality suppliers.
• Strong understanding of financial products and services related to agricultural financing and aggregation.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to track supplier performance and business outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Desirable
• Knowledge of digital platforms for agricultural trading and financing.
• Fluency in additional languages relevant to the region (e.g., Swahili).

Working Conditions
• Regular travel within Eastern Uganda and occasional travel within Uganda may be required.

• Exposure to outdoor and agricultural environments during supplier interactions and site visits.
