Job Summary:
Treesheds Consults Uganda Limited is seeking a competent and experienced Systems, Network and Support Administrator to manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Debian-based servers and related infrastructure.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows workstations.
- Monitor and maintain network and systems performance using open-source tools.
- Implement and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in AD and Linux environments. Ensure network security and data integrity through best practices. Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations and system setups.
- Respond promptly to technical support requests and incidents.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and implement system upgrades and new technologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in systems and network administration.
- Proven expertise in Debian Linux server administration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows workstation technologies.
- Experience with open-source monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Cacti).
- Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and routing/switching.
- Added Advantage (Certifications): CCNA MCSE A+ Linux+ Network+ Security.
