Role Overview

The Tour and Travel Agent will play a pivotal role in enhancing our clients' travel experiences by providing comprehensive assistance in travel planning and documentation. This position is essential in delivering exceptional service and ensuring clients receive accurate travel information. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating closely with the director and contributing to a supportive team dynamic that values proactive problem-solving and customer satisfaction.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Location/Work Arrangement: Kampala / Hybrid
• Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director

Key Responsibilities

1. Confer with customers to determine their service requirements and travel preferences.

2. Provide clients with assistance in preparing required travel documents and forms.

3. Prepare customer invoices and accept payment.

4. Assemble and issue required documentation, such as tickets, travel insurance policies, or itineraries.

5. Maintain computerized inventories of available passenger space and provide information on space reserved or available.

6. Inform clients of essential travel information, such as travel times, transportation connections, or medical and visa requirements.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in any related field.
• Required Experience: 3-5 years in travel and tourism.
• Must have IATA certification
• Mandatory Skills: Active Listening, Speaking, Service Orientation, Critical Thinking, Time Management.
• Required Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Calendar, and Internet browsers.
• Language Requirements: Proficient in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Desired Additional Skills: Social Perceptiveness, Persuasion, Coordination.
• Beneficial Experience: Familiarity with public safety and security protocols.
• Preferred Certifications: Travel and Tourism certifications.
• Additional Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of geography and travel regulations.
