Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transmission of television signals, monitoring broadcast quality, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate transmission equipment, including video servers, satellite uplink systems, and fiber optic transmission systems
- Monitor broadcast signals for quality and technical issues, taking corrective action as needed.
- Ensure continuity of programming by confirming that every piece of material is accounted for and ready for on-air playout.
- Maintain and manipulate required on-air playlists, execute program/ commercial/ marketing changes
- Support live-event and off-air workflows, send logs for reconciliation, and troubleshoot channel playout issues
- Manage commercial integration, including rolling commercial breaks, during taped and live programming.
- Monitor and maintain the continuity and availability for channel streams in the MCR.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, working with the engineering team to resolve problems quickly.
- Ensure compliance with broadcast regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor in line with your duties.
Requirements
- A bachelors Degree in Engineering, Technology or any related Field
- 2+ years of experience in broadcast transmission operations or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of transmission technologies, including video servers, satellite transmission, and fiber optic systems.
- Knowledge of broadcast regulations and industry standards
- Experience with IP-based transmission systems and network protocols
- Experience with broadcast automation systems and master control room operations.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
