Qualifications and experience:
1. The prospective candidate must:
a. Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Counselling, Theology from a recognized institution of higher learning;
b. Have at least two (2) years working experience in an institution of higher learning.
c. Experience working with young adults or youth will be an added advantage.
d. A training certificate in Para Counselling Course will be an added advantage.
2. Must be a person of strong faith and integrity, a committed Christian with a clear testimony
3. Must be willing to work with students for long hours.
4. Strong team leadership skills and demonstrable knowledge of managing an array of student activities and their welfare
5. Clear understanding and appreciation of students’ psychology and peculiar needs
6. Strong public relations and interpersonal skills; ability to relate with people of various categories, especially with young people
7. Have Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff under the students’ affairs’ office
8. Literacy in ICT and competency in MS Office Applications
9. Have ability to write reports and follow through with actions
10. Have proven experience in counseling, problem solving and conflict resolution.
11. Be of high ethical standards and professionalism
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Manage and supervise all employees and volunteer staff within the halls.
2. Management of students’ life in the halls of residence and affiliated hostels.
3. Counsel and guide students on different issues affecting their studies or lives.
4. Supervision of custodians, property and equipment in the halls of residence and strictly enforce the resident policy.
5. Ensure health and safety measures in the halls of residence.
6. Manage student registration, billing at every beginning of semester.
7. Ensure that tenant agreements on semester basis between the University and hostel are made.
8. Ensure rental payments to affiliated hostels are processed and honored.
9. Clear finalists for graduation.
10. Arbitrate student and sometimes their parents.
11. Rapid response to any crisis that happens among the students.
12. Oversees the cleaning, maintenance and security of Halls of residence and Hostels.
13. Maintain up-to-date record of all students in the Halls of residence and Hostels
