JOB DETAILS:
Position: Head Business Development
Reports To: Director Client Value Creation
Supervises: Business Solution Specialist(s)
Job purpose: To design strategies that will increase BLL’s understanding of the market, use data to innovate products and services that respond to the clients needs and ensure that BLL achieves its business growth objective.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop an annual business plan that meets revenue targets for company products and services.
• Initiate and conduct market research to inform business strategy and decision making.
• Lead the formulation of new client solutions proposals, liaise with different partners and stakeholders, and follow through to meet key deadlines and milestones.
• Forge partnerships with other organizations in the health sector to position BLL for growth in line with the strategic plan.
• Drive cross functional teams through the offer development process from idea generation to launch.
• Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, architectures and standards for obtaining new business solutions, developing these into business solutions operational manuals.
• Monitor and analyze products and services portfolio commercial KPIs against targets and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Advise on overall business model positioning and implementation in line with the vision of the company.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Business Administration, or any other related course from a recognizable institution.
• The candidate must have demonstrable business development experience.
• A postgraduate qualification in Sales and/or Marketing will be an added advantage.
• A credit (or above) in English and Mathematics at O’level is a MUST. • At least 5 years’ experience in such a role at managerial level.
• Prior experience working with a medical supply chain entity is an advantage.
• Demonstrable experience and proficiency in market research analysis and product development.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong and demonstrable sales and business acumen-ship.
• An initiator with strong perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team.

Reports to: Head Business Development
Supervises: Interns
Job Purpose: To identify and respond to new business opportunities as well as manage the fulfillment of client requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Develop an annual business plan for products and services to inform business strategy and decision-making.
• Develop proposals with solutions that effectively respond to client needs and requests; liaise with internal and external stakeholders and follow through to meet submission deadlines.
• Use business acumen and best judgment to determine appropriate follow up mechanisms to close business with new and existing clients.
• Identify and quantify clients’ health commodity requirements and manage their fulfilment throughout the BLL value chain.
• Maintain relationships with clients by obtaining feedback, resolving concerns, as well as providing support, information and guidance.
• Effectively communicate with BLL target audiences including clients, partners, and suppliers through appropriate channels in line with the company policies and procedures.
• Write and present monthly reports on client needs, new business solutions and challenges in line with the department’s standard operating procedures.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Biomedical Technology, or related discipline.
• A credit (or above) in English and Mathematics at O’level is a MUST.
• At least three (3) years’ working experience in a health supply chain management organization is desirable.
• Demonstrable experience and proficiency in marketing, market research analysis, needs assessment and quantification of health commodities, equipment, and devices.
• Strong communication and report writing skills; proficiency in MS Office applications.
• An excellent team player who works under minimum supervision.
