Post: 4 Printing Machine Operator (Lithographer)
Responsible to: Printing Supervisor/Senior Machine Operator
Salary Scale: EB 7

Tenure of Employment:
A contract of 5 years, renewable upon satisfactory performance.

Purpose of the Job:
To provide Lithographic services in the Printer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Printing quality jobs by following laid down procedures and job specifications to ensure maximum client satisfaction.
  •  Machine maintenance as per schedule to ensure that machines are in good working condition.
  • Cleaning the machines on a daily basis by following the guidelines in the clean chart to prevent stoppage of the machines.
  • Trouble shooting and carrying out minor repairs by following guidelines in the machine manuals to avoid machine breakdown and unnecessary interruptions and delays.
  •  Organizing the work floor by ensuring that everything is put in the right place and kept neat and tidy, to avoid accidents, easy movement around the floor and for easy identifications of materials to enable smooth operations.
  • Keeping record of daily activities by making entries of materials used and leftovers and jobs printed including the time taken to print them, in the book for purposes of accountability and easy follow-up by all.

Person Specification:

Academic/Professional Qualifications

Should have at least a Craft Certificate ll (advanced) or a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution. Having a Certificate in Print Technology is an added advantage.

Work Experience:

Must have relevant work experience of at least 5 years in the printing industry, working as Operator of modern printing machines or both folding machine and gang stitchery.

Essential Personal qualities

  • Track record of unquestionable integrity.
  • Good interpersonal, team building and communication skills.
    Age limit
    Only applicants between 25-45 years old are eligible for consideration.
