JOB DETAILS:
Main Purpose of the Job:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resource (HR) Director to provide leadership and oversee the strategic direction and viability of the Human Resource Directorate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Initiate, develop, implement and review the HR policies and practices in line with the University’s Strategic Plan.
• Act as a resource to Management, in handling issues of HR in the areas of job design, organizational structures and workload distribution.
• Develop and monitor the annual work plan for the HR Directorate in line with the HR Policies.
• Facilitate the update of the HR records, information and data.
• Design and implement performance management and control systems.
• Coordinate and implement the payroll and terminal benefits pay schedules as well as the employee wellness programs.
• Establish a measure to ensure consistency in various HR practices in relation to recruitment, compensation, job descriptions, and job profiles including demand analysis and specifications organizational structure among other HR related issues.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time-to-time.
Person Specifications:
• Academic Qualifications:
o Must possess a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or Organizational and Industrial Psychology, or Management Studies (Human Resource option), or Organizational Development or Public Administration, or Business Administration (Human Resource Option), from a recognized higher education training institution.
o Must possess a Bachelors (Hons) degree in Human Resource Management, or Organizational and Industrial Psychology, or Organizational Development or Public Administration (Human Resource), or Business Administration (HR option), or Social Sciences.
• Work and Social Administration (SWASA), or Bachelor of Arts, Social Sciences plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, from a recognized higher education training institution.
• Certificate in Administrative Officer’s law is an added advantage.
• Possession of Professional qualifications like Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Chartered Governance Institute (ICSA) will be an added advantage.
Working Experience:
• Should have at least Eight (8) years of working experience in human resource management, three (3) of which at Senior level and above, in a public institution or private reputable organization.
• Membership in a recognized Human Resource Professional Institute/Association is an added advantage.

Experience in Months: 96
Level of Education: bachelor degree
