JOB DETAILS:
Reports to: Commercial Manager

Qualification and Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English (written and spoken).

Experience and Knowledge:
• At least 5 years of experience in translation, particularly in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of technical terminology in construction and engineering.
• Experience translating documents, reports, and correspondence for construction projects.

Job Summary:
The Chinese Translator will be responsible for translating technical documents, contracts, project reports, and communications between Chinese-speaking stakeholders and the local project team. This role is critical in ensuring that there is no miscommunication between the international and local teams. The Translator will also support meetings, correspondence, and negotiations by translating spoken and written materials.

Key Responsibilities:
• Translate construction contracts, technical documents, and project reports between Chinese and English.
• Provide live translation during meetings and negotiations between Chinese-speaking and local teams.
• Ensure that all translated materials are accurate, clear, and technically correct.
• Help resolve language barriers in day-to-day operations of the project.
• Assist with any other translation-related duties as required by the project team.
