JOB DETAILS:
Want to be part of a successful scale-up in the African tech space?
Tunga is the go-to platform for hiring African software developers. Companies from all over the world use Tunga to hire African software developers to execute software projects, as full-time or part-time members of distributed software teams. Tunga’s mission is to create tech jobs for African youths and has a community of over 4000 software developers.
We were founded in 2015 and have served over 250 clients from all over the world. Tunga’s clients have a diverse profile: SMEs, startups, corporates, and NGOs all belong to our client base. The main reason why they choose Tunga is that we are driven by empathy, empowerment, and joy of work, which translates into a high service level, high quality of work, and quite often long-lasting relationships with the client. In other words, we take good care of both our clients AND our developers!
For our marketing department, we are looking for a communicative and results-oriented Communication Officer (remote-first, full-time).

What will be your job?
As Communication Officer at Tunga, you will spearhead our content marketing efforts, setting the vision and strategy to amplify our brand, grow our client base, and strengthen our mission of creating meaningful opportunities for African developers. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about social impact, has a knack for storytelling, and thrives at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and execution.

What will you be doing?
• Strengthen Tunga’s brand positioning to resonate with clients, developers, and partners globally.
• Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to attract global tech clients and top African talent. This will include creating content for our website, newsletters, thought leadership articles, and social media.
• Develop and manage communication with our community of software developers through Slack groups, email campaigns, and virtual community events.
• Create and oversee content highlighting the journeys of developers and the success stories of clients.
• Lead thought leadership efforts, positioning Tunga in discussions about remote work, impact sourcing, and global talent.
• Monitor, measure, and report on content marketing effectiveness, using data to refine strategies.
• Advocate for African tech talent by ensuring marketing efforts break down barriers for developers.
• Create content to drive the engagement of our developers with Tunga and effectively communicate Tunga policy within its online community.

What’s your profile?
We’re looking for a communication officer who is:
• Passionate about Tunga’s mission and excited about working in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong in strategic thinking, brand storytelling, and campaign execution.
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Results-driven and adaptable, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.

What do you bring to the table?
• Experience in marketing and content roles, preferably within tech, SaaS, or talent-related industries.
• Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, including SEO, social media, and email marketing.
• Expertise in creating impactful content and managing thought leadership efforts.
• A data-driven mindset and proficiency in marketing analytics tools.
• Passion for social impact and understanding of concepts like Impact Sourcing.

What do we offer you?
• An inspiring and challenging job environment within an international organization on a meaningful mission.
• A full-time, remote-first role with a permanent contract for 6 months, with the option to extend (including a 2-month grace period).
• A relaxed office culture: flexible working hours, opportunities to work from home, and a results-oriented environment.
