Our client, DanChurchAid (DOA), is a faith-based Danish INGO working closely-with church-based as well as secular NGOs in Uganda and in the Great Lakes re ion. It's programmes cover three main areas: Active Citizenship with a strong focus on good governance and democratization, Right to Food including food security and livelihoods, which addresses climate change, land tenure and support to markets and value chains, and Humanitarian and Transitional Responses to conflict and natural disaster. On the ground in Uganda since 1979 DCA works mainly through partners but most recently has started implementing directly under its Humanitarian Response component. Agender-inclusive rights

Position: Global Funding Officer (Local Expat Opportunity)
Duty Station: Kampala(80-90% time) with travels mainly within Uganda
Report to: Country Director of the Great Lakes Regional Office in Kampala

DCA in Uganda is seeking to recruit a person with minimum 3-4 years of experience for the following local expatriate position:

Job Summary:.
The main function of the Global Funding Officer {GPO} is to increase the fundraising capacity and donor income of DCAs Country Office in Uganda.

The GFO shall be the focal point and key person responsible for its timely proposal development
together with partner organisations and technical staff of DCA ensuring that proposals meet the requirements of international donors, m ensuring appropriate grants management of international funded projects, m] assist in building relations and in increasing visibility of DCA among both donors and the private sector, and iV] ensuring that all funded projects meet the visibility and communication requirements of the funding agency

As well, the GPO snail build the competence of DCA staff are partners to do their own fundraising from international as well as country based donors.

Key qualifications / Experience:

• A university degree in international development or other related social sciences.
• Documented successful experience in proposal development and writing.
• Knowledge of handling contracts of international donors including EU, UN agencies, USAid, DHD, Danida as well as other institutional donors
• Knowledge of and experience of working with the private sector to liaise and raise the profile of DCA ,
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, and capacity to work with a partner-based approach.
• Flexible, pro-active, self-motivated and good at coordinating and organizing own work as well as that of the team, white managing several processes at a time
• Paying attention to detail. ‘
• Excellent English writing skills.
• Knowledge of DCA's programmatic areas is an advantage.

Terms and conditions:
The position is a 2-year "Local Expat Contract" with possibility of extension. Terms and conditions are similar to those of local employees as according to the Staff Manual for DCA Regional Offices, with the exception of a higher salary.

Only expatriates residing within Uganda or the East—African region may be considered for this position.
