RUSCA's mission is to fight against poverty through savings, mobilization and provision of micro credit facilities ot the economically active rural poor entrepreneurs (mainly women) on a sustainable basis. RUSCA arose as a result of a PSDP/GOU/UNDP initiative. However challenges include insufficient capital, unpredictable business trends in rural areas, incomparability of enterprise yield with gains from borrowing, governance, cost of capital, legal framework, literacy levels of the beneficiaries, and existing poor savings and client cultures.
