In the early stages of 2020, as coronavirus was taking hold across the globe, we became increasingly concerned about the unprecedented challenges facing both groups.
For non-profits, many organisations found their fundraising hit rock bottom, as many loyal donors began to withdraw their support. Whilst for social enterprises and start-ups, many found their core customers reduce their spending, in order to protect their own personal finances. Simultaneously, as unemployment figures skyrocketed, most students and young professionals found it incredibly difficult to gain real-world work experience.
Amidst this crisis, we identified an opportunity to tackle both of these issues at the same time. By providing these social impact organisations with support offered by volunteers, we could provide much needed support to charities and businesses, whilst providing students and young professionals with opportunities to gain hard to find real world experience.
