Core Values

  • Teamwork
  • Transparency
  • Professionalism
  • Accountability
  • Productivity
  • Creativity

  • Financial literacy is relevant for everyone in a modern society regardless of income level, education, age, rural or gender. Lack of financial literacy and inclusion Uganda directly affects the socio-economic development as people cannot make informed decisions about their finances

PEDN promotes youth financial literacy among institutions of learning (primary schools, secondary schools and high institutions) as well as out of school youth through the following activities.
  • Pathways to Whole School Development project

PEDN together with Aflatoun International and Opportunity International – EduFinance are implementing the Pathways to the Whole School Development (WSD) project across 35 secondary schools in 8 districts (Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, Buikwe, Mityana, Mpigi, Iganga, Tororo, and Butaleja & Mayuge), reaching 2,450 youth and 70 teachers.

The project utilises a Youth Social and Emotional Learning curriculum to empower young people with social skills that will improve their self-awareness, self- management and responsible decision- making in life. The project is funded by Opportunity International and runs in school terms one and two in 2019
  • PEDN is implementing a Social and Financial literacy curriculum in 140 schools (both primary and secondary) across 7 districts (Gulu, Mbale, Masindi, Mubende, Wakiso, Kampala & Mukono) in Uganda, reaching 52,024 young people in 2019.

PEDN and MasterCard Labs are also supporting the same schools in integrating ICT school related payments as well as in tracking learners’ performance though a system called Kupaa.

This intervention is funded by the American People through USAID Feed The Future Program, Youth Leadership in Agriculture Activity.
