In order to achieve the above objectives, Hima Cement limited seeks to recruit motivated and competent Mobile Equipment Operators as indicated below;

Duration: Full time- Contract
Duty Station: Tororo

Job Summary;
To operate mobile equipment (Excavator, wheel-loader, Trucks, Tractors and forklift) and ensure smooth/safe cement milling through loading raw materials/Biomass and stockpiling materials and offloading on 24hour basis, 7 days a week on 12hour or 8hour shift basis. The job holder reports to the Production Manager
The scope includes:
a. Health & Safety Compliance.
b. Proper maintenance of mobile Equipment.
c. Maintain proper housing keeping standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure Health and safety compliance of all the safety rules in the working area.
• Maintain proper housekeeping standards all the time in the area of operation.
• Ensure the mobile equipment operations and inspections is as per the Holcim standard.
• Operate the wheel loaders and truck to maintain plant operations during shift (loading clinker, gypsum, pozzolana, Biomass and slag)
• Clearing of platforms to allow continuous material trucks offloading.
• Operate Excavator for stockpiling materials (slag, clinker, pozzolana and gypsum)
• Operate forklift for offloading paper bags, grinding aid and transfer maintenance items where required.
• Document condition of mobile equipment as found and after use for smooth handover.
• Carry out 1st level Inspection of mobile equipment before use and report all faults to the maintenance technician and CRO.
• Ensure spillages of material around the feeding points is safely returned to the system.
• Maintain proper housekeeping standards to ensure that the VCM, HGG and material transfer area are kept clean at all times with ME on shift.
• Ensures that all testing equipment is properly maintained.
• Prepare end of shift report which must include safety observations, incidents, operations actions for follow up and activities done on shift.

Required Qualifications skills and attributes.
Technical Competencies
• A valid driver’s license with class H, G, CH and for new permits (G, C) and 3 years’ experience.
• Defensive driving knowledge/training.
• Basic mechanical skills.

Profile & Personal Qualities
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Team-player and good verbal communication skills.
• Be self-driven and able to work with minimum pressure.
• Reliable, tolerant & determined
• Able to work extended hours when required
