Job Summary
Provides financial information to management by creating, populating, analyzing accounting data and preparing financial reports, Conducting and assisting Annual Audits and compliance to tax and other finance related regulations .
Job Duties:
• Participates in the budgeting processes of the organization and its different projects.
• To ensure that all expenses are fully accounted for through highly organized thorough documentation.
• Enters data into the accounting system (Microsoft Navision) and prepares monthly project and organizational financial reports.
• To prepare quarterly financial reports.
• To file different tax returns and statutory obligations at the end of each month, Quarter and bi-annual and year that is income tax ,PAYE, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Local Service Tax(LST) for project employees, annual Income tax and filing annual returns with URSB and any other taxes or statutory deductions that may arise.
• Drafts and shares monthly payroll with the Operational Finance Manager and the Chief Financial Officer.
• Prepares for audits and works with the auditors to ensure they have every document and information they need to carry out the audit.
• Handles cash including banking and issuing receipts.
• Participates in the procurement processes of the organization.
• Ensures the organization maintains an asset register and inventory checks are carried out periodically.
• Take charge of the payment process to ensure all payments and bills are paid on time and correctly.
• Perform timely monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls and implementing controls in areas of weakness identified.
• Maintains partners/stakeholder’s confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Skills
• Good excel skills.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Experience in compiling monthly financial reports
• Experience in using accounting systems e.g. Microsoft Navision
• Experience of payroll processing + knowledge of local statutory & tax requirements
• Personal integrity.
• Attention to detail, deadline-oriented, time management, data entry management, and knowledge in general math.
• Experience in Auditing & Tax Planning is an added advantage.
• Excellent Command in MS Excel is imperative
• Operational Command in the accounting package Quick Books
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Accounting and Finance or other related degree (First/Second upper honors degree)
• CPA/ACCA Qualified
• At least 3 years’ experience as an accountant or in a Finance Role
