JOB DETAILS:
This position reports administratively to the Cluster Managing Director and functionally to the Chief Commercial Officer based in Nairobi, Kenya and the main mission is to oversee and develop CMA CGM business operations in Uganda, head all the office operations as well as to defend and represent CMA CGM Group’s interests and corporate image.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
Manage CMA CGM Uganda Limited and develop its activities
• Develop and oversee growth strategies in the Agency
• Increase and diversify agency revenue
• Lead the operational implementation of CMA CGM Uganda activities (HR, procedures, finance integrity, operations)
• Establish and maintain a good relationship with main stakeholders of our activities
• Internal stakeholders within the Cluster, Region and HO
• Key Clients and vendors
• External stakeholders
• Understand regulatory environment and procedures of ICDs and Customs formalities for cargo flows.
• Ensure implantation of relevant tools for a safe management of our activities while maintaining a first-class service level to our customers.
• Understand political and economic environment of the country and region, identify opportunities and development perspectives for the Group in the region
• Understand commercial and financial objectives set out by the Group and cascade them as clear and concrete Performance Indicators to the team
• Prepare and report activities and performance periodically to cluster, DRO and HO
Team management
• Lead the team and assess periodically their performance vs the objectives
• Ensure compliance of the team with rules and procedures as set out by HO
• Direct supervision of the agency staff and coordination of their activities as may be required
• Evaluating performance and productivity of the team
• Assist in hiring of employees in collaboration with the cluster office
• Ensure local teams training and growth
Project management
• Prepare a clear and realistic Business Plan for development and management of projects based on potential volume metrics, market opportunities and market price levels
• Participate in bidding for local tenders in collaboration with local, cluster, regional and HO teams.
• Deliver the objectives and figures as defined by the Business Plan
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• At least 10 to 15 years of industry experience across shipping or transportation industry, including international exposure with a multinational organization.
• Team player, driven and motivated for excellence and proven record of commercial
• Work experience in matrix environment in large international organizations.
• Knowledge of Commercial and/or Operations functions will be an advantage.
• Ability to engage a diversity of stakeholders at various levels, strong communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and creativity with the ability to hear everyone’s opinions.
• Those open for global mobility and international careers across the group will be preferred
• Ethics, integrity and respect for the confidentiality of information.
