JOB DETAILS:
Nation Media Group is Uganda's most influential media house, operating the Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor, Sunday Monitor and The East African Newspapers, 93.3 KFM, 90.4 Dembe FM and Nation Courier Service. It also operates NTV, the biggest and most popular English-language television station and Spark TV, the first female-focused, and fastest growing television station in Uganda.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and result oriented professional to fill the following vacancy.

Job Title:
Assistant Accountant - Credit
Reports to: Credit Controller Department: Finance

JOB PURPOSE
To process and dispatch invoices and statements to advertising debtors and reconcile the debtors accounts to maximize revenue collection and cash flow from agencies to meet MPL's business objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Undertake timely billing of the Monitor paper, Ennyanda, Radio and Digital platform adverts.
• Reconcile daily the charge sheet to adverts run, and reconcile SAP print revenue with the yield report.
• Reconciliation of the debtors' control accounts for all revenue platforms, with emphasis on allocation of unapplied amounts and posting of approved credit
• notes.
• Verify and ensure timely payment of advertising commissions, ensuring accuracy of computations and adherence to the commission structure.
• Prepare revenue reconciliation reports for all revenue platforms monthly, the debtors aging analysis reports and share the unapplied reports on a monthly basis.
• Provide support to the internal and external debt stakeholders.
• Customer service: 24 hour turn around for resolution of complaints.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Academic: University Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Statistics or any other related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional: Certified Public Accountant with relevant professional qualifications e.g. ACCA, CPA.
• Experience: At least 2-4 years' working experience in Finance and Accounting in an FMCG company.
