JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To support the Strategic Programs Senior Manager in achieving SAN’s mission to transform agriculture for a sustainable future. The role focuses on operational support, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement to advance sustainability goals, including climate adaptation and agrobiodiversity restoration solutions that improve rural livelihoods.

Key Responsibilities
Mission and Business Support
• Program Logistics:
o Develop and implement operational plans to manage activities and events.
o Maintain regular communication with corporate, foundation, and government partners.
o Prepare necessary documentation for seamless program execution.
• Program Implementation:
o Support program objectives, task management, and progress tracking.
o Address challenges, collect feedback, and contribute to program improvements.
• Framework Development:
o Collaborate with teams to create logical and M&E frameworks.
o Align frameworks with SAN’s partnerships, objectives, and Theory of Change.
Program Coordination and Delivery
• Proposal Development:
o Conduct research, draft, and review proposals to secure partnerships and funding.
• Sustainability Solutions:
o Develop tools and materials to promote sustainable agriculture practices.
• Documentation:
o Document program activities, lessons learned, and successes for scalability.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Represent SAN at meetings and events to build relationships and gather feedback.
• Act as the main point of contact for program communications with partners.
• Prepare and disseminate program materials, including reports, presentations, and newsletters.
Knowledge and Resource Management
• Conduct research and analyze sustainability trends to drive program innovation.
• Develop technical content for SAN’s communication channels, including articles, blogs, and reports.
Leadership
• Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of team members, interns, and temporary staff.
• Provide expert consultation to SAN members, partners, and funders.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background
• Master’s degree in sustainable agriculture, agricultural economics, agronomy, agribusiness management, rural development, or sustainable livelihoods.
Experience
• At least 10 years of professional experience, including work in agricultural or rural development programs in developing and emerging economies.
• Experience working in international development, climate action, or sustainability initiatives.
• Familiarity with human rights in agricultural supply chains and community-led initiatives.
Languages
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or French is preferred. Additional languages are a plus.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and data management tools (e.g., MS Excel).
• Familiarity with M&E frameworks, mobile technology solutions, and integrated development frameworks.

o In-depth understanding of sustainable agriculture and challenges faced by farming communities.
o Knowledge of global food systems, gender equality, human rights compliance, and climate action strategies.

o Expertise in designing, piloting, and scaling sustainability solutions.
o Strategic thinking and prioritization skills to manage multidisciplinary teams.
3. Communication and Collaboration:
o Advanced communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
o Ability to influence without authority and foster collaboration.
4. Data-Driven Decision-Making:
o Ability to analyze and leverage data for program improvements.
5. Problem-Solving:
o Skilled in facilitating group discussions and resolving complex issues.
6. Leadership and Innovation:
o Passion for sustainability and proactive leadership to inspire teams and stakeholders.
7. Personal Attributes:
o Highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented with strong ethics and integrity.

Work Relationships
Internal: Strategic Programs Unit, Business Development Unit, Monitoring, Evaluation, Communications and Knowledge Management (MECK), Network Strategy and Engagement team, IT, Corporate Services, and Senior Management teams.
External: Consultants, clients, donors, and representatives of SAN member organizations.
